Mouse on Cake 1/12 - Polymer Clay Mini Sculpture

The first Mouse of the year has his blog post! And he has a dilemma: to eat or not to eat the candied cherry? :D

Miniature Mouse on Cake - Polymer Clay Sculpture by Daniela Messina

I think he'll eat, because he needs energy for the fair! We'll be at Miniaturitalia next week-end :)

Sculpting and painting this little mouse was hard work for my eyes ^^ I used a stereoscopic microscope, and painted him wit the paintbrush with one only bristle that I used for the little birds :)
While the mouse think about the cherry, we are making preparations for the leaving. We hope to meet you at the Miniature Fair next saturday and sunday! :D

Blue Tit in 1/12 Scale - Polymer Clay Mini Sculpture

The little Blue Tit loves Pomegranate too :D
Here is another little bird ready to fly for Miniaturitalia. Some little snowflakes fell today in Rome, so he'll need extra-feed to fly as far as Milan, I think ^^

Miniature Blue Tit in 1/12 scale - Polymer Clay Mini Sculpture by Daniela Messina

The Blue Tit has wonderful colors: blue wings, yellow body, green back and a lovely black and white eye mask. He seems a fairytale character! It was hard reproducing this color, because they are so lively that in a sculpture it was the risk they become false. Maybe this is just the magic of the Blue Tit: bringing in the sky the colors of the wild flowers and fields.

I used the same only-one-bristle brush that I used for the little Long-Tailed Tit to paint it, and the acrylic colors for miniatures too. In this case painting was more hard than sculpting, I need to study volume and space to put the color with great attention, but I think in the end it was enough like the little one that came to visit me some time ago ^^
Who knows, will he recognize himself seeing this little miniature? ^^

Long-Tailed Tit in 1/12 Scale - Polymer Clay Mini SculptureMiniature

Although all new miniatures I'll exhibit at the fair are in the video I uploaded on my YouTube last Monday and shared in my last post, I decided to dedicate a post and some pics for each of them :)

Here is the first, the long Tailed Tit eating a pomegranate :)

The Long-Tailed Tit is a very tiny bird, and it's was hard sculpting and painting him. I painted it using a brush with just one only bristle ^^
I used acrylic colors specific for miniatures, to paint the bird, and soft pastels to paint the pomegranate :)

Long Tailed Tit and Blue Tit are friends, and the Blue Tit will be on my next post :)

Polymer Clay Miniature Video - Rabbits, Mice and Other Friends :)

This video is not a tutorial, but just a gallery of the mini sculptures I'll exhibit at Miniaturitalia, the Italian Dollhouse Fair :)

Rabbits, Robins, Fairies and me are so busy with preparations for the fair! I hope you'll enjoy the video. There are so many new polymer clay tutorials projects in my head, and so short time in my life these days! I hope I'll record some of them as soon as I'll return from the fair :)

I hope my Rabbits and little creature will keep company with you, and will make you happy :)

Here the miniature I'll teach, all inspired by Spring and Easter  :)

Decorated Easter Egg - Uovo di Pasqua Decorato

Soaps and Perfumes in Pink - Saponi e Profumi in Rosa

Little Strawberry Basket - Piccolo Cestino di Fragole

Please, read the Admi presentation page, and the complete workshops' list, for all the info.
My Fairies and I hope to see you next February 28 and March 1-2 at Hobby Show Fair in Rome, to mini-celebrate together the Spring! :)

Miniaturitalia 2014

We got back home from Miniaturitalia a few weeks ago, but I get to write here just now.

Siamo tornati da Miniaturitalia da qualche settimana, ma riesco a dedicarle un post soltanto ora.

Miniaturitalia 2014

This year it was the tenth edition of the fair, and I'm glad I can say of "I'm here in the first edition!" :)
Too much emotion and beauty to write... People from all the world that united from the same love of miniatures: the sweet Mika from far Japan, my friends Margaret and Robin from United States, the kind ladies from England that adopted my miniature mouse at Kensington some years ago... friends from Spain and from France, and the beautiful artworks by the talented ADMI miniaturist. It was so beautiful seeing them all together! A special thanks to Marina de La Casetta di Pampepato, Eurosia, Cinzia and to the tender Eleonora. And of course thanks to Miniaturitalia's Staff for making real a dream, every year.

Celidonia's Fairies come back to Hobby Show with ADMI

After some years of absence, Celidonia's Fairies come back to Hobby Show, the fair of creativity that will be next October in Rome, at ADMI stand. ADMI is the Italian Miniature and Dollshouse Association and it will be in the Rome fair edition for the first time.

Dreaming Baby Fairy
ADMI miniaturists will teach with wonderful short workshops, all professional and high-level courses, and this little Fairy is mine :) I named her  "Pink Dream Fairy", because it seems she was dreaming just pink dreams... But I hope my students will not send to sleep, sculpting her! ;)
She and me wait for you next October 11-12-13 at Hobby Show in Rome!

Miniaturitalia 2013

I came back from Miniaturitalia Sunday in the night, as much exhausted as happy! That's a photo of my table I took Saturday, first the start of the fair (the exhibitor was behind the camera ^__^).
Miniaturitalia 2013
I was missing from the fair for two years and the return has been affecting. To see again so much friend and great miniaturists: Marina by La Casetta di Panpepato (with her lovely, sweet christmas-and-not only works), Giovanna by Sotto il Nespolo (great vet and great miniaturist... she cure animals, sculpt animals and draw animals!), Roberta by Le Miniature di Eurosia (sunny friend of flying and many fairs, with her exclusive tuscany ceramic), Patrizia Santi with her wonderful mini shoes, Manuela Michieli with her delightful mini cakes, Elena by Idee da un Mondo di Favola (a dear friend with whom I shared a wonderful edition of Paris Création!), the adorable Mika from Japan and... too much people to mention, but not too much to be all in my heart.
Miniaturitalia 2013
I knew new talented people too, as Andrea Tomaselli, Marina's brother (they had the tables table mine), who create wonderful veenered furnitures. I was very happy to know Kristiina Meiner, with her original dolls! Unfortunately I didn't have helpers, so I can't see the fair as I liked. The point of view of the fair is almost the same of my fairies: from the table! I'd like to see the Silvia Cucchi's beautiful works, and many others, but I missed it even if in the same room!
fairy at miniaturitalia 2013
Many people asked me why I wasn't in the ooak section, in the other room: it's because I'm so attached to Michelangelo's Room! I have been in this room since the first Miniaturitalia edition, in the 2004, there are memories and love... moreover, I'm routine like a cat! ^__^
Before to go to finish to put in order bags and ideas, I would to say a big thanks to Sabrina and her staff, for the incredible work that they always make for Miniaturitalia!
